Georgia Merton

Georgia Merton is a multi-disciplinary British artist and photographer, living in Hackney, London with her two children. Drawing inspiration from natural phenomena, the human body and architectural structures, Georgia re-imagines forms through her lens to reveal new perspectives.

In recent years, her practice has centred on cyanotype, exploring the expressive possibilities of its distinctive blue and white palette. As a printmaker Georgia's graphic work is largely an interpretation of her photographs. Georgia transforms these source images into cyanotype editions through layers of light, chemistry and intuition.

Printed on beautifully textured paper, the works are incredibly atmospheric and emotive, often evoking a sense of nostalgia with memories of childhood holidays, the feeling of the hot summer sun, windswept beaches and the cool air of the mountains.

Georgia studied printmaking at the Art Academy, London, following an Art Foundation and a First-Class Honours degree in Time Based Media from The University of the West of England.

Georgia has exhibited across the UK and internationally, including the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy in London, The Affordable Art Fairs worldwide, Art For Youth, The London Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, InkFair Miami and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. In 2025 she was commissioned to create a series of print editions for the newly opened SOHO farmhouse in Ibiza.
