Ben Brotherton moved to south-west France in 2008, where he lives with his wife Mollie, a ceramicist, and their three children in an old farmhouse in Sedeillan.
Having initially established a reputation for his atmospheric en plein air landscapes of the French countryside, Ben has since turned his attention to life studies and more recently still-life paintings.
These bold colourist studies painted from life are a natural progression in style. Working directly from his subject, Ben Brotherton distils space and light into layers of colour, tone, pattern and texture.
With this new collection of 14 life studies and still-life paintings weare delighted to present a much anticipated solo show from this celebrated British artist living and thriving in France.
