Catherine Cazalet’s latest collection ‘Treescapes’ explores the relationship between land and trees. ‘Every painting has a tree in it.’
Having recently wanted to create more depth in her paintings, there is a fantastic energy and fluency in this latest collection of work.
Drawing inspiration from ‘Japan to landscapes in Yorkshire,’ Catherine Cazalet’s compositions are taken from the ‘masters, nature or my imagination.’
‘I have enjoyed creating my own compositions.’ The Clustered Trees and Groups of Trees series have been repeatedly developed into purposely flattened motifs and colour studies. ‘I am endlessly exploring colour in nature.’
We are delighted to present this vibrant, expressive and compulsive collection by the ever-brilliant Catherine Cazalet.
