With a degree in painting from Boston University and illustration from Bristol West of England, Georgia Fiennes née Verey, combines highly accomplished draftsmanship with her own wicked sense of humour. Placing her animal subjects in all manner of creations, often glamourous and always entirely original, her paintings offer a sense of real fun and an escape from the traditional.
Influenced by Edward Lear, Paula Rego, John Currin, Michael J. Austin, Georgia explains 'All my paintings exemplify my love of animals, however not in the traditional sense. I like to place my subjects in unexpected or humourous circumstances. Facial expressions, colour harmonies and textures are key when deciding upon my compositions.'
Georgia has worked as a full-time artist since 2004 showing her work at regular exhibitions ever since. With her highly personal style Georgia also works to commission throughout the animal kingdom.
Georgia regularly shows her work in group exhibitions with GrandyArt including Under a Grand and the Small Pictures Show.
